Historical relevance of location
This is the terrain of the Holocaust monument in the city of Berlin; in memory of 6 Million murdered Jews. Ten years were to pass before decision was reached about the kind and location of the monument. The construction work will begin in January 2000 (January is the month of the rescue of Jews in Auschwitz 1945). Some metres from this location was the course of wall between East- and Westberlin - 1961 till 1989.
